Rise, shine, save the beach!
At 6:00 AM on Sunday, June 3, there’s a chance our sleepy beach town may be a whole lot sleepier, as eight stalwart improvisers who’ve been performing for 37 hours join Local Genius Society to present “Beach Cops.”
Inspired by the likes of Baywatch and Pacific Blue, sun, surf and sleep-deprivation will undoubtedly align for this 38th hour of the Hideout Theatre’s 43-Hour Improv Marathon. Set your alarm, jump into your board shorts, get your tix.
The 43-Hour Improv Marathon helps raise scholarship money for children’s educational programs at the Hideout Theatre.

Baywatch. Pacific Blue. Those episodes of Saved By The Bell where the gang worked at the Malibu Sands beach resort. Surf and sand provide the perfect backdrop for rough and tumble tales of bringing beach criminals to justice and keeping the shores safe for swimmers, joggers, and lovers.
Premiering at the Improvised Play Festival, Local Genius Society presents an improvised episode of the fictional TV show “Beach Cops!” When things get out of hand on the sands (or near a sno cone stand), the Beach Cops will be there. When duty calls, even at the great expense to one’s personal life, the Beach Cops will be there. When there’s a 50% off sale on ultra-short shorts, the Beach Cops will be there.
There are no secrets on the beach.
